This is a fine protein supplement. The carbs in one serving are almost nonexistent which leaves room for one’s creativity to take over with their own combinations. I start with a cup or so of low-fat Silk soy milk in the blender and add: one scoop of the protein, a half cup frozen blueberries or strawberries, a teaspoon of honey, a drizzle of vanilla extract, a 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. I’ve been using it as meal replacement in the mornings and it has been keeping me going until my workout. I also have been taking Scivation Essential Fatty Acids 180 Softgels + FREE 25 Grams Raspberry Ketones Powder which has been a nice combo too for increased energy and endurance.

Okay, NO, this does not taste good. I’ll be completely honest in saying that. But I’m not going to deduct any stars for taste. It would have been a bonus, but you simply can’t expect a creamy, strawberry milkshake taste from a protein powder that made from raw, sprouted grains and then ground to a fine texture. I think it is unfair that a few gave such poor ratings due to taste. Do you purchase a liquid vitamin supplement and expect it to taste good, especially an all-natural, raw, organic one? Of course not. You get it for the amazing health benefits. The first two days I took this protein I had an incredible surge in energy. With all other protein powders in the past, whether it was EAS whey (which is the best-tasting if you are only looking in terms of taste and amino acid profile) or an high-priced organic brown rice protein, they all either made me feel sluggish and tired afterward and/or bloated…usually both. What a great way to start my morning after my protein shake…tired and bloated. Not with this one. I just add a scoop to unsweetened vanilla almond milk and then a packet of Truvia sweetener (it’s a natural stevia-based sweetener and takes the edge off a bit, takes away the ‘dirt’ taste), and then an scoop of PGX by Natural Factors (another amazing natural health supplement company) for appetite and blood sugar balance. I feel great and do not need to eat anything else for a few hours except maybe a few slices of pineapple to go with it. The price is steep and doesn’t make it possible for me to purchase this product all the time. However, my local grocer had an introductory price sale on this, and so I only paid around $22 for the 28-scoop container. Wasn’t going to pass that up! Hope to see more sales in the future and/or coupons so I can continue to purchase. It is nice to have a protein shake and not feel weighed down and icky for hours to come.

GOOD PRODUCT, BUT SEVEN SCOOPS SHORT!, August 18, 2012

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

My husband and I eat mostly vegan. However, after going through many containers of Raw Protein, I started to notice that it was NOT lasting nearly as long as I had thought it would. Above the ingredients listed on the jar, the company states, “Servings per container approximately 28” and “Serving size one level scoup.”

With confidence, I say, “NAY, NAY!” After finally measuring the exact, total amount of level scoups in two different containers, I discovered that there were only 21 scoups in both of them. In other words, I had planned on the product lasting four weeks, but it only lasted three. I can understand being a couple of scoups off, but there is way too much discrepancy here between claim and reality.

The gritty taste is okay and to be expected I guess because it’s made from grains, but this product is not as economical as I had believed. Just wanted all of you buyers to know what you’re actually getting.
